- Below the welcome page title, click My account (right side of your training page).
- Enter your current password.
- Then enter your new password.
- Then in the field below, confirm your new password.
- Click Save changes.
- Click Return to my training.
VIP members can ask an instructor directly during our daily Q&As!
- From your training page, click Ask an Instructor.
- Then click Join Q&A.

When you complete a course you should see a green Mark course complete button above the video and to the right (If you don’t, make sure that every topic in every chapter has a √ mark).
- Click the Mark course complete button.
- Then return to your main training page.
- Scroll to the course in the OnDemand courses tab.
- You’ll now see a black Certificate button on the course description.
- Click Certificate and download or print it. Oh, well done by the way!!
As a VIP member, you can have up to 5 employees accessing your training page. If an employee completes the course, but their email is not associated with your account, follow these steps to get the correct name on the certificate.
Step 1: Temporarily change the name on your account.
- Below the welcome page title, click My account (right side of your training page).
- In the Account Details tab, change the First Name and Last Name to the employee who earned the certificate.
- Click Save changes.
- Click Return to my training.
Step 2: Generate the certificate to print or download.
- Scroll down to the completed course.
- Click Certificate.
- Print or save the certificate.
Step 3: To change back to the original name, Repeat Step 1.
This is the official certification offered by Intuit, the makers of QuickBooks. Becoming an Intuit Certified QuickBooks User validates your skills and shows the world that you know how to use QuickBooks. You’ll stand out from the crowd and Employers will take notice because you have the credentials to PROVE your QuickBooks skills. The test is taken online with a live proctor. This ensures that you are the person taking the test, but more importantly, employers can be confident that Certification means something!
Yes, if your training includes Mastering QuickBooks Level 1 (Desktop or Online version). If you’re a VIP member, you automatically qualify, AND you receive 5 vouchers for the certification exam ($149 per voucher). You can use these for other employees or to take both the QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online exam.
As a Real World Training student, you can take the exam online through us. If you’re interested in certification, email [email protected]. In your email, list your email and whether you have Mastering QuickBooks Level 1 or if you are a VIP. Then, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to prepare for the exam (including a practice test with answers) and schedule your online test date.

Can I put this on my resume?
Absolutely…and we strongly recommend that you do so. Millions of small businesses use QuickBooks and need help with their accounting. This is the best way to separate yourself from the crowd in the eyes of prospective employers. You’ll also receive a badge that you can attach to your social media accounts like Linked-In. Employers can also validate your certification online at the certiport website.
What is the certification test like?
This is a 50 question, 50 minute test that covers the full breadth and depth of QuickBooks. Questions cover major “areas” of QuickBooks including, setting up, list management, money-in and money-out transactions, payroll (QuickBooks Desktop – Pro/Premier only), reports, and customizing QuickBooks.
You’ll take the test online and most questions are multiple choice (The QuickBooks Desktop test also includes about 4 or 5 “simulations” that require you to complete a task inside of the QuickBooks Desktop environment).
Is the test “open book”?
No. You aren’t allowed to refer to notes or any other screens while taking the test.
When will I get my results?
You get your results immediately after you finish the test! If you receive a passing grade (study and you will), you’ll receive an email with your Certificate and badge within 5 business days from Certiport. You can also login to the Certiport site to review or send your transcript. Your results include your percentage right on each section of the exam.
Who needs this certification?
This certification is for anyone working with QuickBooks that wants to show that they’ve worked hard, know QuickBooks, and can prove/validate their skills. And certification validates that you can use QuickBooks to handle “standard” transactions.
Can I retake this test?
Absolutely! You’ll have 2 opportunities to pass the exam. If you take the exam and don’t pass, you’ll receive an email from Certiport with your new testing code which has to be taken within 30 days. After that, you’ll need to pay for subsequent retakes.
Do I have to recertify?
No, recertifying is not required. However, QuickBooks does evolve over time and we highly recommend staying current and updating your knowledge. VIP members can attend the “what’s new in QuickBooks” class live (or watch a recording at their convenience). As a VIP member we do recommend updating your knowledge as QuickBooks evolves over the years to keep your knowledge up-to-date. You are welcome to always retest for the newest version, but it is not a requirement to maintain certification.
How much will the test cost?
If you’re a Real World Training student, we’ll buy the test for you! If you would like to purchase the exam on your own the price is $150 and can be purchased here. VIP members can request 5 free vouchers a year.
Are there any extra fees for the test?
Nope… there are no additional fees if you test online through Real World Training. If you instead choose to test at an in-person testing center, there may be other fees depending on the testing center.
Is this an Intuit test?
Yes. Intuit partnered with Certiport (a Pearson Vue company) who are leaders in creating certifications for commonly used software and technical skills. Learn more about Certiport below.
Step 1: Open your account page:

Step 2: Add a new payment card
- Click the Payment Methods tab,
- Click Add payment method.
- Fill in the card details and click Add Payment Method.
Step 3: Link your subscription to the new payment card
- Click the Subscriptions tab on the left.
- Click Change Payments.
- Select the new card you added in step 1, and click Change Payment Method.
Step 4: Remove your old payment card
- Click the Payment Methods tab
- To the right of your OLD card, click Delete and then confirm that you’re sure.
Step 5: Return to your Training page:
- From the menu at the top of the page, click My training.
